Foodborne Illness Preparedness Series for CHUG Members
Foodborne Illness Preparedness Series for CHUG Members
Emergencies don't wait for Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Independent Living facilities, and neither should your readiness.
This series equips CHUG members with a practical, hands-on approach to foodborne illness outbreaks, from early detection to full-scale response. Built for administrators, dietary staff, and infection control leads, it draws on real-world case studies, including recent Listeria-linked recalls tied to nursing home resident deaths, to show what an outbreak looks like in real time.
NOVEMBER 4 | FOODBORNE ILLNESS incident Workshop
2:00 PM-3:30 PM Central
The Foodborne Illness Incident Workshop will help participants learn how to plan for, respond to, and recover from a foodborne illness incident within their organization.
NOVEMBER 12 | FOODBORNE ILLNESS Incident Tabletop Exercise
10:00 AM–12:00 PM Central
The Foodborne Illness Tabletop Exercise (TTX) is a discussion-based simulation that allows key personnel to practice responding to a hypothetical foodborne illness outbreak, test plans and communication, identify gaps, and strengthen response procedures in a low-stress environment.
DECEMBER 3 | FOODBORNE ILLNESS Incident Full-Scale Exercise
10:00 AM–1:00 PM Central
The Foodborne Illness Full-Scale Exercise is a realistic, hands-on emergency drill that tests personnel, resources, communication, and coordination across organizations. Participants respond to a simulated foodborne illness incident to identify gaps and strengthen overall response capabilities.
