2025 Year in Review from Connie, Founder of CHUG
As 2025 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on a year that’s been challenging, unpredictable, and at times, exhausting, but also full of resilience, dedication, and hard-earned progress.
Healthcare organizations continue to navigate staffing shortages, increasing workloads, and a complex regulatory landscape that can feel overwhelming. Through it all, CHUG has been honored to stand alongside you, providing guidance, support, and practical tools to help your teams weather the literal and figurative storms.
This year, CHUG released emergency tip sheets and hosted a range of hands-on training exercises, from tornado and fire safety workshops to active shooter and workplace violence drills. These sessions gave members real-world practice in crisis response, ensuring staff not only understand procedures but feel confident in executing them when it matters most. Our custom consulting services helped organizations assess and strengthen their emergency preparedness programs, navigate CMS and state compliance, and build plans tailored to each facility’s unique needs.
We know this work isn’t easy. Healthcare teams are stretched thin, regulations change constantly, and the stakes are high; every decision can impact patient safety and staff well-being. That’s why CHUG exists: to be the empathetic expert you can rely on, offering guidance, services, and support so your organization can act decisively when emergencies arise.
Looking ahead to 2026, we’ll continue to provide workshops, exercises, and consulting that address the realities you face tornado preparedness, fire safety, workplace violence prevention, regulatory compliance, and more. We’ll keep offering tools that help your team stay prepared, supported, and resilient, no matter what challenges come your way.
Being a CHUG member means more than access to resources; it means having a trusted partner in emergency preparedness. Mutual aid evacuation and relocation services, restoration support, participation in real-world exercises, and guidance on program assessments are just a few of the ways we help our members protect their staff, patients, and communities.
It’s been a tough year, but together, we’ve made strides in safety, compliance, and preparedness.
Thank you for trusting CHUG to support your emergency readiness journey. Let’s carry that momentum into 2026 with realism, resilience, and readiness at the center of everything we do.
